I am an avid quilter and gardener. I also love to read….
So my friend doesn’t think this adequately describes me, so after having looked at a few other peoples’ profiles, I think I can improve on my initial comments. First of all, I am a “natural” blonde & proud of it. One of my favorite adages is “Blonde is more than a hair color, it’s a lifestyle”. I try to live up to this on a daily basis. My sense of humor is one of my most important characteristics. I wanted to be a comedian when I was in high school, but I got married instead. The joke was on me! Seriously, though, my dear, handsome, creative, funny, big hearted husband and I are about to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary. I was only 5 when we got married since I can’t possibly be old enough to have been married that long. We are both retired and living in our forever home on 17 acres on California’s central coast where we are both very active in our rural community. I’m a strong Born-Again Christian and very conservative, but have lots of friends and relatives on the polar opposite side of both of those issues. I am not just an avid quilter. I am absolutely obsessed with quilting and find it a struggle to do anything else anymore. When I was working, I had a too long career as a court reporter, which reflects my love of words and their meaning and ways to use them in, hopefully, clever puns, a love shared by my hubby. In that vein, I’ve always wanted to write a novel, but will try not to do it in this About Me slot, besides, at this moment I have 7 quilts waiting to be finished, and who knows how many waiting in the wings to be started. So, welcome to my blog!

Carolyn, you could have given us a bit more here:) I know you are SO much more than what you’ve written here. God bless you, dear sister!

Thanks, Carolyn, and good job!!! Love the baby quilt. I think what you called a mistake on the first block, I couldn’t even see:) Would love to see the finished product when it’s ready!

Thanks, Carla. I’ll bring it to the Hall when we get together again. Things don’t translate to photos nearly as well as in person. There was a terrible pucker around the ear that made the block 1/4 inch smaller than it should have been.
